Orthostat, The Mound of the HostagesOrthostat: Mound of the Hostages - Tara

http://www.knowth.com/tara-orthostat.htm

The carvings on the orthostat along the southwest wall of the entrance to The Mound of the Hostages (Duma na nGiall) are not artwork, celestial representations or a calendar as some have theorized, but simply a map of The Hill of Tara, which predates the site as it appears today. When the engraving of the orthostat is rotated roughly 80 degrees clockwise, the carvings match ten of the monuments on the hill with respect to location, orientation and scale.

Orthostat, The Mound of the Hostages is available as a PDF Download.

 - but  - what if the markings on the orthostat are not only a " a map of The Hill of Tara,  "   ..... see above
and
http://www.knowth.com/tara-orthostat.htm

but also a map of something in the sky , so - perhaps a blueprint of the monuments on the Hill of Tara rather than a map
which would explain how the stone can be older than some of the monuments depicted
...see discussion on te Stone Pages
here

The problem is that  the things in the sky it seems to be related to , ie/ the centre of our Galaxy , isnt possibly visible with the naked eye and has only been recently photographed with a radio telescope

I think the people who built these were able to somehow allow their souls to travel into deep space and return , having seen things and maybe understood things that we are only beginning to learn to see again , and I think they did this at midwinter

- there is plenty of evidence that they THOUGHT they could  - but that they actually saw things that are actually there is a challenge to our usual way of seeing the world
but - if you can see this as a possibility , then much Megalithic art becomes representational

and the argument about whether they are representation of things terrestial or celestial means nothing if the monuments on the ground are being laid out as a reflection of the skies

...a big IF , of course

                    - if not then please just look as it as some kind of art project  in coincedence of form - and just enjoy ; )

...and I cut up this page to reduce the download , so there is more here  and other pages from the Index, here
